DJI Inspire 1 vs. Yuneec Typhoon Q500 4K – An Overview

DJI Inspire 1 vs Yuneec Typhoon Q500 4K

This is a guest contribution by DroneFly.com

With the large number of drones for sale today, it is difficult to make a decision sometimes. A lot of first time drone buyers are torn between the features provided by an upper end drone, like the DJI inspire 1, and the more cost friendly types, like the Yuneec Typhoon Q500 4K. Rather than leaving you to do all of the research and guess work, we’ve let these two popular heavyweights battle it out, and here are the results.

DJI Inspire 1

The DJI Inspire 1 is a beast amongst personal drones, specifically, its size. It is much larger than most of the other drones on the market, and as such, people think it is going to be less stable and susceptible to updrafts and wind gusts. Fortunately this is not the case, in fact the Inspire 1 handled beautifully. With its built-in sonic position system it even handles exceptionally well indoors where many drones tend to fail or crash. The multi-remote feature allows two pilots to control the drone and camera features separately, providing precision flying and excellent imaging capabilities. The price tag gives many buyers a bit of a shock at about $3,000 for the drone, however the ease at which the camera is removed leads everyone to believe that the DJI Inspire 1 will be one of the few drones that is designed to be upgraded. Only time will tell.

Yuneec Typhoon Q500 4K

The Yuneec Typhoon Q500 4K is an incredibly solid drone for the price. It is also bigger than most personal drones and offers similar resolution features (4K resolution) as the Inspire 1. However, the images on the Q500 are not as crisp and get blurry around the edges. The Q500 does not have an automated home feature either. So when you’re drone dips behind a house or a set of trees, you better be wearing your track shoes because you are going to lose signal, extremely quick. The Q500, despite these flaws, is still a very solid drone, especially for beginners or intermediate enthusiasts who are looking to upgrade from a store bought, glorified quadcopter.

Conclusion

If you have the extra money to spend, then the DJI Inspire 1 is the drone of choice. However, if you are on a budget, the Yuneec Typhoon Q500 4K provides plenty of bang for the buck. If you are interested in purchasing either drone, DroneFly.com has both of these 4k models for sale.
